From the Millennium Wrestling Federation Board of Directors:

As noted Tuesday night, it appeared that Scott Reed had bowed out of his championship match against MWF Heavyweight Champion "Slyck" Wagner Brown at ZERO TOLERANCE May 22nd in Everett, MA.  With little in the way of explanation from Mr. Reed, President Cena referred to Dr. Lee Silk, who believed that Reed was not 100% after his amazing triple threat TV Title Match against "Straight Edge" Brian Fury & "Million Dollar Investment" Tommaso Ciampa at SOUL SURVIVOR VI April 24th, along with a hard hitting singles match with Ciampa on the May ULTRA television program.

The MWF Board of Directors met this afternoon to discuss various options and scenarios.  While many could argue that Scott Reed has indeed earned a championship opportunity, a former MWF Heavyweight Champions also had a rematch clause that could be exercised:  Todd Hanson.  Hanson has been anxious for the opportunity to face Brown one-on-one.  The MWF had encouraged Hanson to make sure he is 100% before signing on the dotted line, as when dealing with anyone involved with John Bradshaw Layfield's Uprising, the fine print contains it's own fine print.  With recent victories over both "Executioner" Brian Milonas and Rick Fuller in singles matches, along with a full evaluation by Dr. Silk, we have determined that Mr. Hanson, MWF Heavyweight Champion from August 2007 - June 2009, will face Brown at ZERO TOLERANCE.

At the same time, President Cena and the entire MWF BOD is extremely disappointed in Reed's lack of communication in backing out of a main event championship match he was aware of for months.  Situations like this not only affect the match and event itself, but it also has a domino reaction for his fellow superstars.  In this sport, you're only as good as your word.

As his benefactor, JBL was none to pleased to learn that his champion was being put into a situation where he had to face a former champion in Hanson instead of Reed.

Todd Hanson won the MWF Heavyweight Championship from then "Sudden Impact" Dylan Kage in August 2007 at SOUL SURVIVOR IV, ending Kage's near four year reign as champion.  Hanson began a tremendous run as a champion fans of all ages could look up to and respect with victory after victory.  Things started to go down hill in March 2008, when Hanson was attacked by the MWF "Stalker" in the parking lot of an area gym the night before the MWF's NH debut.  He continued to be a fighting champion even though he wasn't competing at full strength, pinning Rick Fuller in singles action, as well as defeating TNA superstar Abyss, Fuller and Milonas in a four way Monsters Ball Championship Match in the fall of 2008.  At SOUL SURVIVOR V, he unmasked and revealed the "Stalker" as Dylan Kage inside a 15 foot high steel cage before beating the ex-champion.  However, Hanson's body continued to deteriorate to the point where President Cena was forced to strip Hanson of the championship, allowing Todd to say farewell to the fans for the time being last June.  Now eleven months later, he gets his chance to take the gold home!
