2009 has been one of the most newsworthy and intense years in the history of our organization (and just wait until our in-ring action heats up this spring!). It seems like something is exploding each and every week. I never expected to find out that Paul Bearer and Dylan Kage were behind the "stalker" plot. Believe you me, I never thought I would be donating a great deal of time on getting a "mermaid" to Texas! That's what makes this such a unique and interesting sport. . .
We've involved in many "outside the box" type projects over the years that you don't see with your typical regional wrestling organization. Over the past few months, you've heard a lot about WWE IC Champion John Bradshaw Layfield and his Layfield Energy drink. We've pushed books, DVD's, WWE live events & movies, TNA events and PPV's and everything in between, but energy drinks were a little unusual even for us. . .
My physical issues are known thanks to the infamous car crash with the Iron Sheik & Commissioner Von Johnson. Two herniated discs in the neck, ridiculously bad back and ankles so bad I move at a speed that makes Ox Baker look like Rickey Henderson. I still have some bouts of post concussion syndrome. . .all that good luck with time to go before I reach my 30th birthday! After doing some homework on JBL's drink, I was interested to see if it could benefit me. Little did I know that JBL would turn on President Cena and invest in The Uprising faction here in the MWF and that his energy drink would take over MWF television and the BOSTONWRESTLING.COM super-site. But, I'll separate business from the personal on this one (a rarity). . .
Since several cases of Layfield Energy arrived at MWF headquarters several weeks ago, I'm amazed at the benefits from it. I was expecting it to be similar to the typical 5 Hour Energy-type two ounce shot. Not being a morning person, those have helped me on many an early morning flight when I go back and forth to Florida several times a year. Layfield Energy drinks go beyond that. True, they give you a kick in the ass and keep you feeling fresh, yet it also improves your focus a great deal and keeps you moving. I would classify Layfield Energy as "the mature energy drink," as it goes way beyond the typical energy drink that gets you up for work after a late night on the town. The lovely Linda Mirade tries to get her hands on them before she hits the gym and loves them. Ditto on our executive director Pat Doyle. It's a struggle for me to hobble out of bed each morning, and I can honestly say that this drink has made a positive impact in my everyday life. . .
Do I agree with everything JBL has done in and out of the ring?? Absolutely not. I'm extremely worried about what he has planned for The Uprising and the Millennium Wrestling Federation now that he has these athletes under his contractual control. The man is a proven winner, and it's refreshing to see a modern day superstar with so many business interests outside of our sport. JBL will never wind up as the proverbial "Randy The Ram" or even Sheiky Baby. It also makes him a potentially dangerous enemy. He doesn't "need" professional wrestling. . .he has books, energy drinks, radio programs, web-sites, etc. He wants professional wrestling because he simply can. . . he's great at it, a success at it and it continues to feed his New York City sized ego with it. His investment in "Slyck" Wagner Brown, "Million Dollar Investment" Tommaso Ciampa, "Future Legend" Luke Robinson, et al only makes The Uprising that much stronger. . .
Nonetheless, I implore you to sample Layfield Energy drinks, whether you're looking for a workout boost or a natural helping hand at getting you through the day. JBL believes so much in this product that he's offering any fan six free bottles so they can feel the benefits of it themselves. If you have the backbone to put your money where your mouth is, you know it has to be good. Visit LayfieldEnergy.com to get yours today. . .no matter what you think about JBL, after your six free bottles, you'll be headed back to the site or a local health store for more. To borrow a line from President Cena "you can take that. . .to the bank!" You can't put a price on quality of life, and this drink is indeed the real deal. . . I'd be interested in feedback from any fans that have tried Layfield Energy and their reaction to it. . .
